What Terminal Industries builds
Terminal Industries is an Austin-based, venture-backed company whose Yard Operating System (YOS) uses fixed cameras and computer vision to automate gate check-in, asset inventory, and yard workflows by reading trucks and trailers as they move. Its publicly documented work includes an AI yard-monitoring pilot with Ryder covered by FreightWaves.
If the goal is automated identification at the gate of a high-volume site, camera-first instrumentation is a serious approach and Terminal has real deployments behind it. This is not a cameras-versus-no-cameras comparison: YardFlow runs machine vision at its gates too. The difference is what comes first, and whether the unit of value is the site or the network.

A YNS standardizes the driver journey, the custody records, and the definitions at every facility, so cross-site data is comparable, the rollout playbook repeats, and automation lands on a deterministic process instead of inheriting the chaos.
What does YardFlow deployment look like?
Deployment is remote and takes about 30 minutes per site, and the protocol is the same at each one, which is how 24 Primo Brands sites went live on one standard with 260 contractually committed. A proof of concept runs 60 to 90 days, measured: gate to gate averaged 48 minutes before and 24 minutes after.
